English: Kok-Gumbaz mosque, mausoleums and madrasa. The Kok-Gumbaz mosque (blue dome) is seen from the front in the background; it dates from 1435–1436. In front of the mosque are found two mausoleums, including that of the Sufi sheik Shams ad-Din Kulal, and a madrasa (Koranic school). The buildings were restored in the second half of the 20th century and at the beginning of the year 2000.

Situated 100 km south of Samarkand, Shahrisabz (formerly named Kesh) is known for being the birthplace of the family of Timur (Tamerlane). To pay homage to his region, he constructed a mausoleum for his son—in which he also wished to be interred—and also a vast palace called Ak-Sarai. The descendants of Timur enriched the city with religious buildings like the Dorout Tiloyat complex.

Français : Mosquée Kok-Gumbaz, mausolées et médersa. La mosquée Kok-Gumbaz (coupole bleue) est vue de face au fond, elle date de 1435–1436. Devant la mosquée se trouvent deux mausolées dont celui du cheik soufi Shams ad-Din Kulal et une médersa (école coranique). Les bâtiments ont été restaurés dans la seconde moitié du XXème siècle et au début de l'an 2000.

Située à 100 km au sud de Samarcande, Shahrisabz est connu pour être la ville natale, (ancien nom Kesh) de la famille de Tamerlan (Amir Timour). Pour rendre hommage à sa région, il fit construire un mausolée pour son fils où il voulait également être enterré mais également un très vaste palais appelé Ak-Sarai. Les descendants de Tamerlan ont enrichi la ville avec des bâtiments religieux comme l'ensemble Dorout Tilovat.
