English: The Bloemfontein (Dutch for Flower fountain) in the city of Bloemfontein, Orange Free State province, Republic of South Africa. Bloemfontein was named after this fountain, where a Voortrekker, Johan N. Brits, settled. Until 1994 water could still be seen flowing out from the eye atop the pipe. In the current dispensation the fountain deteriorated to the current dormant state thereof. The channel in which the fountain is situated is the Bloemspruit. Behind the fountain is the city Coat of Arms.
