"CONFIGURACIÓN: Con el concepto clásico de una bandera, pero con un diseño fuera de lo común y corriente, el cual connota dinamismo, desarrollo y con las expectativas de un municipio en constante progreso. COLORES: Extractamos los colores que más identifican y que constituyen el orgullo del pueblo de Mesitas de El Colegio, sintetizándolos así: Amarillo: Color predominante el cual representa la calidez del clima y la energía. Azul: Color que demuestra lo diáfano del cielo que nos cubre y el agua que por su utilización permite que seamos la Capital Energética de Colombia. Verde: Importante tono que nos sitúa en las extensas regiones agrícolas de la región, otro de los reglones que se explota en éste municipio. Diseñador: RAFAEL ALBERTO BELTRÁN RAMÍREZ."
