ТавсифотFairey Delta 2 at RAF Museum Cosford - geograph.org.uk - 1013863.jpg
English: Fairey Delta 2 at RAF Museum Cosford One of only two aircraft of the type built. In 1956 Peter Twiss broke the World Air Speed Record in this aircraft flying it in excess of 1000 mph in level flight, the first aircraft to do so.
As with many other innovative British aircraft designs this project was unsupported by Government though several design features involving the delta wing were taken up by others such as Dassault in France and eventually absorbed into the Concord project.
